Obstetric fistula is a major health problem objecting women to major physical and psychological suffering. Associated problems are access to care, surgical difficulties of repair and the constant increase of new cases.
The overall management of obstetric fistula requires a network of recruitment, care and follow up, for which the financial aspect is not negligible. Taking into account the large number of new cases which appear every year, there is an emergency to train many doctors and to give them the necessary support. However, prevention is essential through the implementation of antenatal clinics and emergency obstetrical care to succeed in eradicating this disabling condition.

Fistula-group.org together with various NGOs and Associations active in the overall management of obstetric fistula, allows its members to share practical information, from the field, independently from organizations.
